movies recap
pan's labyrinth was great
little miss sunshine was enjoyable
miami vice sucked
match point was impressive
the departed was great, but not scorsese's best.
inside man was very good, but it seemed like spike lee was reaching to put in some racial issues
sneakers and so i married an axe murderer both make me want to move to san francisco
babel was darn good
Edit to add:
in the vein of filmic things... Have you guys seen the new Jordan ad? You can find it on jumpman23.com click on jordan tv. Once you're at the menu on the site, it's the second button from the left on the top row. It's a great commercial. I enjoy it.

I loved Pan's Labyrinth too, but you've gotta see Children of Men. I'd have to say it was my favorite movie of the year.
Congrats on finally getting your True Romance on.

hey there josh compton.
and hey to you mr. norman. it has been a while. hope you are well.
we tried to see Pan's last week but didn't fit it in. hopefully this weekend.
I agree with your Scorsese comment. Chris James and I were just talking about people who probably don't realize he has a bunch of good movies,, people only go back as far as maybe Goodfellas. A shame. I loved The Departed but I would say he's made 4 better films than it.
I liked Miami Vice. Sorry. I just did. Not a great Michael Mann film, but I just like his movies a lot. Even his flawed efforts.

we watched Idiocracy. It started out very funny and then wasn't much the rest of the way. too bad.
and Adrienne just saw Amazing Grace and thought it was pretty great. I was bumbed I missed out. So, props to whoever put out a pretty darn Christian movie that doesn't suck.
I wana see Pan's Labyrinth!!!!!
I wanted to try to stress some syllable in labyrinth to sound whiny, but it's a really hard word to do that to in text.... oh well...

I'm no movie critic, but I thought Pan's Labyrinth had a LOT of gratuitous violence. (i'm okay with violence if it is appropriate to the story. I thought this was too much.) I also thought that a lot of the characters were REALLY underdeveloped. I think the weird eye-hand monster could have been a lot better developed. If you are talking about cinematography and stuff, it was pretty good, but the two things I mentioned above would keep me from recommending it to anyone. I just thought I'd chime in with my non-movie critic opinion. :)
